Christians believe that they are somehow born with an extra dose of of "common sense" but, you will find that this common sense is as varied as the the number of christians and in reallity their common sense is rooted in their own brand of superstition and self delusion. The bottom line is that their belief in what is nothing more than another pagan belief system inherently makes them void of common sense, after all when you try to reconcile two diametrically apposed belief systems it makes you a blatant hypocrite. Common sense and the tenants of christianity are diametrically apposed just as the tenants of science and any religion are diametrically apposed.

The election of Trump to the presidency is the single most ominous event in U.S. history to illuminate the failure of the public educational system. In my opinion it is do to the lack of focus on teaching critical thinking skills linked with scientific thought. The vast majority of teachers teach only content and completely ignore teaching students how to be independent thinkers with a pension for skeptical scrutiny of everything. Content is fleeting in the minds of individuals. As Carl Sagan pointed out, 96% of U.S. citizens are scientifically illiterate and therefore ill prepared to make critical decisions on important social and political issues. In the face of the complete apathy of Americans to deal with Trump much less the bankrupt education system I am still amazed that we have not heard from anybody of note with regard to a plan or a set of policies to make changes to a failing education system. Do to the vast teacher shortages and the increased hiring of unqualified teachers that they themselves do not have the training and or background to teach students how to apply the scientific method to everyday critical and analytical thought we will only see the situation worsen. Under the current structure of the U.S. democracy and the numbers of scientifically illiterate pushing their agendas based on superstition and media driven misinformation I see little hope for the sweeping educational changes that need to be made. We have created a democracy that allows the populace to be as uneducated and ignorant as they want fueled by every type of social media that reinforces their delusion.

Let’s get this straight, so there are many christians that believe that an all knowing all powerful super being created the first male and female homo sapiens and one out of two of those first two humans could not obey a simple command not eat from the tree of knowledge even though she didn’t know the concept of good and evil yet. These first two humans were so flawed that they condemned all of humanity for all time to punishment and persecution and the all knowing all powerful super being knowingly created these flawed humans and that he would have to punish them for all time. Now for the next two humans one out of two was so jealous of his brother that he murdered his brother the “good son”. So out of the first four humans “god” created, the first two condemn all of humanity to lives of pain and suffering for all time and out of the next two humans one is a murderer and yet this is the creation plan for an all knowing all powerful super being. P.S. Remember in the Noah story the all knowing all powerful super being admits that he is “disappointed” with his creation. Dude you suck at creating humans and are a dick for creating flawed humans and then punishing them for their flaws. Damn, sort of sadistic don't you think! Don't you think??? Logic and thinking are not big on the to do list for religious people.

The second generation Cray Super Computers cost 3 million dollars. The current smart phones are more powerful than the Cray Super Computers. What do people use them for; to tweet that global warming is not a real problem, that evolution is just some scientists opinion and the earth is 6000 year old. Roll that around in your brains and think of the hypocrisy in that! Praise Jebus!

96% of The U.S. population is scientifically illiterate. If you can't define and discuss the second law of thermodynamics in a deep and logical manner then you really can't discuss the plausibility of a soul or the existence of a divine super being. If you don't know what symbiotic organelles are and how they arose and how they define the characteristics of eukaryotic organisms then you have no business denying evolution. 90% of the U.S. population can't even explain what causes the seasons much less how ATP works at a molecular level, yet they know with absolute certainty that anthropomorphic global climate change is just a liberal plot. To what ends liberals and scientist would create such a plot is beyond my understanding.

Here's a good philosophical question. How does god decide what mode of communication he-she( it's) going to use; directly, via an angel, a prophet, a priest, the local nut job or a dog? Why all the hoo-doo-voodo? Ahh, again it must be a test of some sort! P.S. don't forget gold tablets that must be deciphered in a hat with a rock?

The U.S. citizens that have more than two brain cells to rub together have become so sick of Trump's antics that they have completely tuned him out. The downside of this is we have normalized and enabled his aberrant behavior. He has in affect destroyed any remaining respect we had for the presidency.

The Trumpsters thought that gold coins were just going trickle down Trump's pant legs and into their pockets. They thought that somehow he was going to return the U.S. to the way it was in the 50s, with a complete lack of understanding what technology has done to the global economy and the U.S. market place. Union jobs that required only a high school diploma to make 70 thousand a year are now far and few between. We now live in a global economic market where competition is now the rule not the exception. The only thing that Trump has brought back from the 50s is racism, bigotry, ignorance and hate. Coal as a viable energy source is a thing of the past. Petroleum for use other that manufacturing and as lubricants will become a thing of the past. Be innovative, progressive and reinvest in new technology or perish in the market place. You can now longer expect that with only a high school diploma that you are going to live a middle class life style with a good pension, good medical coverage until the day you die. Being educated and trained enough to be fluid in the market place are now essential skills. As the bumper stick says: Trumpism; Making America Hate Again. P.S. Making the world hate the U.S even more.

If I was asked who were the greatest artists of all time I'm sure my choices would seem simplistic and trite to the "real" art critics. But I believe Van Gogh was the most creative artist of all time using impressionism at its pinnacle to convey the human condition with such beauty and simplicity. Second is the one I'm sure the "art holes" would most disagree with; that would be Norman Rockwell. For a man to be so technically proficient and productive day after day, week after week with art that able to capture the emotions of the best of the American spirit during the time of the "greatest generation" in such gentile and thoughtful way is just amazing. Art doesn't always have to be angry and full of angst to say something thought provoking!

Rational thought is always build on a foundation of facts, evidence and data. Rationalization is thought that claims to be the truth, but is build on a foundation self delusion, hypocrisy, superstition and a complete lack of introspection.

Since the death of Carl Sagan, sometimes I feel completely alone in the universe. Even though there are still many of us that share the same views on science, logic, rational thought and critical thinking, none myself included have the gentleness, kindness and humility of Carl Sagan. We can only say that the current world climate would be very depressing and distressful to the master of scientific thought. You are always in my thoughts.

I have two comments today; 1st, I literally wept for the U.S. today. We've fallen down a rabbit hole never to return. Even with a complete restructuring of the educational system it would take at least 3 generations to clear out the current republic of ignorance and the terminally brain washed.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Second, at my mother’s funeral service my brother played Amazing Grace. The irony of this is sickening. My mother was in an ever declining vegetative state for over 10 years. The ludicrousness of this is beyond the absurd and all rational thought. In my opinion it boarders on the unconscionable!

I was told that the types of terrible terrorist attacks like the one that occurred in NYC, with the running down of the innocent pedestrians and cyclists are completely unpreventable. There is a solution but it will never be implemented in the U.S. It's education, and not the type you get in Kentucky, and not the kind of education you get in a Mosque and unfortunately the education taught in almost every school in the U.S. Its an education steeped in critical thinking, logical thinking, and an education based on the scientific method. As Carl Sagan would say, an education that teaches skeptical scrutiny of everything. An education where teachers are allowed to teach the facts, where teachers do not have to pander to social and religious beliefs of every parent and special interest group. An education where everything is not a watered down version of the truth in order to protect administrators from the constant fear of litigation. But unfortunately we have seen that the U.S. has moved beyond the point of no return in which we specialize in mediocracy at the will of the uneducated, ignorant and self delusional masses.

Americans have been given the total and unprecedented freedom to be as uneducated, ignorant and self delusional as they want ,yet they still feel that they are entitled to the "American Dream" without working for it. With the results of the election of Trump, it is clear that there needs to be some motivation to overcome this ignorance. In a America everyone has a opportunity to get a public education through high school, but it has been shown and proved that at the age of 18 we are still very immature and our brains are not fully developed. I believe in order to prevent an other catastrophe such as the Trump election it is necessary that new voter restrictions be implemented. This would include that anyone that does not have a high school diploma is not allowed to vote, that individuals with only a high school diploma are only allowed to vote in the primary of the presidential election and that to vote in the general presidential election you must have at least a 2 year degree and or served in the military. It is obvious that this country cannot afford another "person" like Trump to be elected.

I finally realize why Trump was elected, he really represents the core values of the Majority of U.S. citizens. These values are not just the values of the uneducated ignorant right winged republicans but also the flip side of the same coin of liberals. These "values" or characteristics include the inability to think rationally, critically, logically and to evaluate evidence in an unbiased method. This has lead to an unprecedented number of Americans that live in a bubble of self delusion and denial that is fed by social media that caters to and reinforces their self delusions. For Americans on both sides of this coin they have found it convenient and some how comforting to deny the absolute and irrefutable evidence to the contrary of their religion, superstitions and or pseudoscience. On one side of the coin they are left clutching their crosses and the other clutching their crystals to find their imaginary answers.

I have an in law that say's that a lot of people that voted for Heir PussyGrabber are "good people". My response to that is, they will treat YOU as good people as long as you are not a minority, not Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender, that you are white, christian, that you never question their religion or the bible, that you never do anything to hold their businesses to any environmental or ethical standards, that you never suggest that a single dime of their taxes be used to support any social programs; in fact when it comes to "them" they shouldn't have to pay any taxes because, you know they are part of the elite that just shouldn't have to pay taxes. When you discuss any problems that U.S. might have, you must only say that ALL the problems of the U.S. are caused by minorities, the GLBT community, liberals that support social programs, and of course atheists and any other religions that do not agree with their personal doctrines. Sorry for the Rant. I just don't think a lot of people really understand the depths of Hypocrisy from the people that support Heir PussyGrabber. They must be called on it!

A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right.
